The center is receiving new flooring and a new parking lot surface. The new flooring is nearly complete. Work on the parking lot was delayed due to the rain we received in late September. We anticipate the project will be fully completed in mid-October.
Work on these improvements began in mid-September. During this time the senior center has been operating at the old rec center building on 8th street.
The improvements were made possible by grant money that the City of Artesia received earlier in the year. The new flooring and parking lot will provide better footing for seniors in and around the center.
We appreciate everyone's patience with the relocation while these improvements are underway. Be sure to check the senior center's monthly calendar to stay up to date with all their events.
