Detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting in south Seattle that injured a woman and killed a man early Sunday morning.

Just before 1:00 a.m. on Sunday night, multiple people began calling 911 about a shooting in the 5800 block of 4th Avenue South. Two victims, a 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were reported to have been shot at a nightclub nearby.

Officers went to the club and found the man, who was security for the nightclub, already dead. The woman was found with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Officers performed aid on the woman until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Through the investigation and surveillance footage, officers determined that a vehicle had driven into the parking lot of the club and the driver had fired multiple gunshots from the vehicle. The suspected vehicle then left the club and was found fully engulfed in flames less than an hour later in nearby South Seattle.

Homicide Unit detectives and detectives with CSI responded to the scene to begin investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Anyone with information, including video footage or suspect information, is asked to call the Seattle Police Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
