At least 10 cities in northwestern Bulgaria, a country located in southeastern Europe, recorded rain and hail after an unprecedented storm caused flooding, with the Danube Plain being the most affected, during the night of this Saturday, April 26.

According to local press, cities such as Varna, Vulchedrum, Montana, Pleven, Lom, Vratsa and Pernik were severely affected by the bad weather, with some of these locations experiencing flooding and heavy hail, which resulted in power outages.

At least two villages in Boychinovtsi municipality in Montana province have been severely affected by the storm. Rescue teams reported that around 80 families will have to flee their homes due to flooding caused by the torrential rain.

Between late afternoon and early evening this Saturday, some sectors of the city of Varna, in northern Bulgaria, turned white due to the large volume of hail. Firefighters and Civil Defense teams continue to provide assistance to the population affected by the bad weather.

As of the publication of this article, there is no information about people injured, dead or missing due to the storm.
