Brunópolis | A truck with two trailers loaded with rice overturned on the federal highway BR-470, at the junction with the Marombas region, in Santa Catarina, according to the Fire Department that responded to the incident.

The incident occurred on Saturday, April 12, at kilometer 270 of the federal highway, which according to preliminary information, the vehicle's rollover may have been caused by excessive speed on a curve.

At the scene, the 48-year-old driver was found outside the Scania R500 vehicle lying on the ground alive, but with several injuries, and was taken to the Hélio Anjos Ortiz Hospital in the city of Curitibanos.

The driver of the vehicle with license plate BYI-2I78, registered in the city of Ijuí (Rio Grande do Sul), did not have his name released by the security and rescue teams that responded to the traffic accident. There was no complete blockade of the highway, only partial, for the work of removing the cargo and the vehicle.

The information indicates that the vehicle belongs to the company Knebel Transportes, with an office in the city of Ijuí, in River Big South.

BR-470 is a federal highway that connects the Port of Itajaí, one of the main ports in Brazil and Latin America, to the neighboring state of Rio Grande do Sul (South Big River). However, the single-modal highway has problems along almost all of its more than 800 kilometers of length, being one of the highways with the most traffic accidents, due to poor signage and winding stretches, in addition to the lack of paving, which makes it difficult for vehicles to travel, especially small, medium and large trucks.
