The White House is the workplace of the President of the United States of America, and is located in Washington, DC. The construction of the residence was completed on November 1, 1800, under the supervision of Irish architect James Hoban, in a neoclassical style.

The first evidence that the public called it the "White House" was recorded in 1811. The name "Executive Mansion" was used in official contexts until President Theodore Roosevelt established "White House" as its formal name in 1901 through Executive Order.
